UN CONTINUES FOOD AID PROGRAM TO REFUGEES AND IDPs OF AZERBAIJAN

UN World Food Program (WFP) continues implementing the project of rendering aid to refugees and IDPs of Azerbaijan.

As AzerTAj correspondent was informed in WFP Office in Baku, food aid to 140 thousand refugees and IDPs is planned in the frameworks of as 3-year project.

It was noted that work on distribution of 43 tons of food amounted to USD20 million is being implemented in 23 regions of Azerbaijan.

The project can be extended in case of positive response to the Report of the UN special commission to visit Azerbaijan in late 2005.

It was stressed in the Office that copies of annual reports on the work implemented by WFP are submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan and State Committee on issues of refugees and IDPs.
