The next feature in AZERTAC’s “If I Were a Tourist” column highlights the Gabala Shooting Club.
The Gabala Shooting Club, located in the Bum settlement of the Gabala district, offers an ideal setting for nature enthusiasts and travelers seeking a unique tourism experience.
Operating since 2012, the complex is nestled among Gabala’s breathtaking mountains and renowned chestnut forests, providing visitors with a blend of sports and recreational opportunities. From the very first moment, guests experience a distinctive ambiance: the tranquility of the mountains, clean air, and adventure-based activities offer a refreshing break from everyday life.
Constructed to meet International Shooting Sport Federation standards, the Gabala Shooting Club provides Olympic-level opportunities for professional athletes. The complex includes 10-, 25-, and 50-meter airgun ranges, six trap and skeet shooting fields, and five areas dedicated to sporting clays. These extensive facilities attract both professional shooters and tourists interested in shooting sports.
It is no surprise that the Gabala Shooting Club hosts international competitions. From 2014 to 2018, the club held a range of continental and world-level shooting events. The 2025 CIS Games’ trap and skeet competitions were also conducted here, highlighting the venue’s top-tier infrastructure and adherence to international standards. Consequently, national teams from around the world often select the Gabala Shooting Club for training camps.
The Gabala Shooting Club offers extensive facilities not only for professional athletes but also for tourists in search of adventure. Available activities include archery, shooting at both stationary and moving targets with semi-automatic and double-barreled firearms, as well as excursions along mountain and forest paths on quad bikes. For younger visitors, laser shooting and rides on electric cars and quad bikes make the club an attractive family destination.
After an action-packed day, visitors can relax in the complex’s hotels and cottages and enjoy delicious meals while taking in the stunning natural scenery.
