UZBEK PRESIDENT VISITED GEORGIA
As stated, in the course of the meetings, discussed were perspectives of bilateral relations, issues if international policy of mutual interest, activity of CIS, situation in Afghanistan and Iraq, issues of security in the South Caucasus and Central Asia, as well as issues of usage of Georgia’s opportunities in transportation of the Uzbek goods to the world markets.
In the course of the visit, a number of documents related to expansion of bilateral relations and cooperation were signed.
On the Decree of Edurad Shevardnadze, president of Uzbekistan was conferred with a high award of Georgia - the “Golden Wool” Order.
The Georgian President was conferred with Uzbekistan’s high awards - the Order “For Special Contributions”.
