VOLUME OF CURRENCY TRADES AT BICEX HIGHEST IN DECEMBER
According to BICEX’s PR office, International Bank of Azerbaijan, Joint-Stock Investment Bank “Azerigasbank”, commercial banks “Amrahbank”, “Technikabank” and “Rabitabank has become the leaders of the currency market depending on their share of closed deals in the total volume of trades.
Altogether, 41 banks participated in the trades for US dollar in December 2003. For the last month, 22 trade sessions were conducted and 261 deals were closed. The volume of dollar trades has totaled 586 billion 926 million manat or USD 119,270 million in December. It is 2,4-fold more than that in November. USD 100,428 million or 84,2 percent out of the total volume of December deals falls to the share of the BEST. The weighted rate of AZM against USD made up 4913,87 in December. The volume of deals on RUR and EURO in the BEST has totaled 962 million manat in December.
