Winter session of NATO International School of Azerbaijan begins in Baku
Baku, January 31 (AZERTAC). The NATO International School of Azerbaijan has started its winter session entitled “NATO`s New Strategic Concept: perceptions and challenges”.
The session participants will debate NATO’s Strategic Concepts, NATO’s purpose and core tasks, NATO’s transformation for meeting emerging security challenges, energy security, missile defense, nuclear security and other issues.
The opening ceremony was addressed by Executive Direct of the NATO International School of Azerbaijan Tamerlan Mammadov, Romania`s ambassador, NATO`s coordinator for Azerbaijan Nikolae Ureke, Director of NATO Cooperation and Regional Security Division, Major-General Carlos Branco. The speakers highlighted the importance of the event for NATO-Azerbaijan cooperation.
The session brought together young researchers, students and experts from 20 countries.
NISA is non-governmental organization that functions as research, education and information and training centre on Euro-Atlantic security and integration course. It has been officially registered in January 2007.
