World Bank highly assesses Azerbaijan Railways’ investment project
Baku, March 7 (AZERTAC). In the frame of “Support for railway trade and transport” project, the World Bank delegation has met with the Azerbaijan Railways` staff. The project is being realized in the frame of State Program on development of the country`s railways transport system in 2010-2014s.
Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Railways CSC Gurban Nazirov highlighted the guests on reforms in the railways system and the tasks in the coming years. As was informed, a tender on suggestions on purchase of new locomotives and other facilities were widely discussed. Five companies have been involved in the tender. Application of the new finance-calculation system and consulting trainings for this purpose were focused on.
Head of the World Bank delegation Ben Gericke highly appreciated the investment projects making certain recommendations.
The sides agreed to continue bilateral consultations to boost investment projects in the field.
