World Bank to host Days of Azerbaijan
Baku, March 2 (AZERTAC). Days of Azerbaijan will be held in the World Bank Group`s head office in Washington on March 15-16. The event is organized by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan and the World Bank Office in Azerbaijan. The Azeri delegation led by chairman of the Azerbaijan Central Bank Elman Rustamov will visit Washington to the effect.
The aim of the event is to strengthen cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank.
The event featured presentations of Azerbaijani culture, including carpets, music, photos, national cuisine and project of Azerbaijani national postal operator “Azerpocht”.
Elman Rustamov is expected to meet with World Bank`s president Robert Zoellick, executive director Michel Mordasini Executive Director who heads a constituency including Azerbaijan, IMF representatives and officials.
Azerbaijan has been a member of the World Bank since 1992. The WB currently finances 18 projects in Azerbaijan with a total portfolio of $2.2 billion. The projects cover transport, environmental protection, education, justice, and other fields.
