In his address, during the meeting with teaching staff and students of the Baku State University held on November 7, ex-US National Security Advisor Zbignew Brzezinski told of NATO enlargement. He noted that the second stage of its enlargement is progress. The third will begin next year from the Istanbul NATO summit. The discussions will revolve around Ukraine’s joining. We call it Kiev stage. Brzezinski called three states, which will be ready to join this NATO at this stage. According to him, one of them is Azerbaijan having great prestige in the Caucasus. However, it depends on how the country will cope with its problems.

Z. Brzezinski said that he could exert strategic influence on the Organization and let Azerbaijan join the Kiev stage of NATO enlargement.
