A function on the 10th anniversary of Gubadli region occupation was held at Marty’s Alley in Sumgait.

The participants, IDPs, temporarily placed in Sumgait laid a wreath to the obelisk and flowers to graves of victims and prayed for those fallen for independence and territorial integrity of motherland.

The head of executive power of Gubadli Malik Isagov and others making speeches at the ceremony pointed out that a small territory of that region has a 125 borderline with the enemy. The population tried to defend themselves. The war took lives of innocent people. There are national heroes among fallen soldiers of Gubadli. Each family suffered from aggression of Armenian armed forces. People from Gubatli have been placed in 47 regions of Azerbaijan. A major part of Gubadli people lives in Sumgait. However, despite of all difficulties, we hope that in the near time people will go to their homes, they said. They are sure due to a wise politician and outstanding statesman, President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.

The participants of the meeting expressed their respect and love to the President of Azerbaijan and wished him the soonest recovery.

Milli Majlis (Parliament) deputies Tofiq Huseynli and Imamverdy Ismailov took part in the ceremony.
