35 KM OF BAKU-TBILISI-CEYHAN MEP LAID IN GEORGIA
Construction of the first part of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Main Export Pipeline is intensively going on in the Tsalk province of Georgia. ‘Inter-Press’ reports citing the State International Oil Corporation of Georgia that 35 km of the pipeline has already been laid; along the pipeline corridor, the pipes are being laid and welded, 10-km part is already finished. Special technologies are applied in most difficult areas; processed ground is used for reconstruction of roads in the province’s territory: over 45 km of roads have been repaired in this way. The upper fertile soil layer is being stored along the pipeline corridor and will be put back after the construction is completed.
