6 pianists perform in 2nd round of international Gabala competition
Baku, July 17 (AZERTAC). Six performers have launched a bid to make it to the final of the international Gabala piano competition in its second round.
The second round of the festival, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, will feature a competition among a total of 11 pianists from 7 countries.
Russian Andrei Yaroshnsky, Mexican Abdiel Yarquez, Azerbaijani Nargiz Kangarli, Japanese Mizuho Nakada, Azerbaijani Fatima Aliyeva, Georgians Daniel Kontuashvili, Ketevan Jakaratashvili, Aleksandr Vashadze and Anna Kipiani, Ukrainian Aleksandr Samoilov and Turk Eren Aydogan will perform 4 compositions in two days.
The final round of the competition will take place on July 21-22. Finalists will perform together with the Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra.
The contest`s jury panel includes world famous musicians from Spain, Italy, Georgia, Azerbaijan, US, Norway, Mexico, Korea, Great Britain, Israel and China. The jury panel is headed by honored academician of the UN International Arts Academy, professor of the Juliana Music Academy of the United States Oksana Yablonskaya.
The first international contest of pianists was held in Gabala in 2009.
