APRIL OIL PRODUCTION REACHES 743,077 TONNES

The volume of oil production was 743,077 tonnes in April, according to State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).

The monthly production plan was exceeded of as much as 2.8 percent.

Approximately 654,001 tonnes were produced by oil and gas production enterprises, while 89,067 tonnes were extracted by joint ventures and operational companies.

SOCAR says oil production level is expected to hit 8.8 million tonnes in 2006.
