ASSISTING NATIONAL MINORITIES TO MASTER MOTHER TONGUE
The International seminar ‘Educational Rights of National Minorities’ organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Education Directorate of the Council of Europe was held at the European University of Kiev, AzerTAj correspondent for Ukraine reports. It was attended by representatives of the COE, Ukrainian Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, and international and public organizations.
According to the COE Secretariat member Vadim Lisikov, the Ukrainian experience in realization of the CE project is also used in other countries, including Azerbaijan, Moldova and Georgia.
The forum participants highly appreciated the ratification of the European Charter for regional languages by Ukraine.
As was earlier informed, due to the efforts of the Embassy of Azerbaijan to Ukraine and local regional organization of the Congress of Ukrainian Azerbaijanis, a Sunday school is functioning in the city of Dnepropetrovsk.
