Austrian President visits International Mugham Center in Baku

Baku, October 12 (AZERTAC). President of Austria Heinz Fischer has today visited the International Mugham Center.

The President was informed that the construction of the Center was initiated by the First Lady of Azerbaijan, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva following the April 6, 2005 Order of the President of Azerbaijan on construction of an International Mugham Center in Baku. He was told the Center opened on December 27, 2008.

The International Mugham Center has a 350-seat concert hall, club, restaurant, classrooms and recording studio.

The Austrian President viewed busts of renowned Azerbaijani performers on the foyer.

President Fischer toured the Center and listened to the young mugham performers.
