Azerbaijan attending conference on traditional music in Slovenia

Baku, August 26 (AZERTAC). UNESCO expert on intangible cultural heritage Sanubar Bagirova is representing Azerbaijan in the scientific conference in Slovenian capital Ljubljana.

According to Azerbaijan ministry of Culture and Tourism, Bagirova will deliver a report in the conference.

The conference entitled “The meeting of traditional music and dance of different times and places with European music culture” is organized by the International Council for Traditional Music (ICTM).

The event is held with support of “İmago Sloveniae”, the Slovenian Culture and Ethnomusic Society and other organizations in Ljubljana University.

The conference will feature discussions on research works on traditional music and comparative musicology, tendencies of modern ethnomusic, the role of traditional music in the globalization and national movements and other issues.

The conference will wrap up on Sunday.
