AZERBAIJAN ATTENDS MOSCOW INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION

Official opening of the international tourist exhibition – MITT 2004 “Travel and tourism” organized by Moscow tourist exhibitions department “ITE group LLC” will be held in Moscow, on March 24.

Azerbaijan delegation led by deputy Minister of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism Teymur Mehdiyev attends the exhibition.

On the eve of exhibition, Teymur Mehdiyev attended the seminar organized by World Tourist Organization on subject “ Marketing of the tourist routes in XXI century”. The participants had wide exchange of views on more effective cooperation of states in this field.

“ Participation in such arrangements gives to Azerbaijan good opportunity to study experience of the leading countries of world in the field of tourism, market opportunities, as well as positively influences on establishment of more close contacts of Azerbaijan with WTO member states”, Mehdiyev said. He pointed out that within past years, tourism in Azerbaijan was rapidly developing, being one of the important priorities of economy.

Mr. Mehdiyev stressed significance of the “State program on socio-economic development of the regions of Azerbaijan Republic” signed by President of Azerbaijan. According to him, in accordance with the state program, Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism considers development of domestic and foreign tourism, as well as creation of up-to-date infrastructures as one of the important priorities of its activity.
