Azerbaijan-Canada: first scientific conference on public interests held
Baku, November 30 (AZERTAC). The first Azerbaijan-Canada scientific conference dedicated to protection of the public interests was held in Toronto, the Embassy of Azerbaijan to Canada said. The event is supported by the embassy of Azerbaijan in Toronto, Azerbaijan-American Council (AAC) and the Azerbaijani Students Association of the Toronto University (ATA).
Speaking at the event, Ambassador F. Shafiyev informed on the activity of Azeri Diaspora in Canada, stressed the necessity of creation of coordination mechanism among the Azeri Diaspora groups. He, in particular, underlined the important of protection of the rights of each Azerbaijani in foreign countries, recommended the Azeri students to propagate the Azerbaijani realities among the socio-political figures of Canada.
Ontario Parliament`s member Reza Moridi is the key reporter at the event.
The Jewish representatives taking part at the conference shared their views on strengthening of Diaspora activity.
Chairman of AAC Javid Huseynov, head of the Azerbaijan-Canada Associations Assembly Yashar Mugan and ATA member Iskender Ganizade informed on the activity of Azerbaijani Diaspora members in the resident countries.
