‘Azerbaijan is developing rapidly’
Baku, July 26 (AZERTAC). “Azerbaijan is developing rapidly and Spain is interested in boosting relationship with this country in all spheres,” said Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the Spanish Congress of Deputies, Josep Antoni Duran i Lleida at a meeting with Vice-Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament, Milli Majlis Ziyafat Asgarov.
He said “we hope that our embassy will open in Baku in the near future”.
Josep Antoni Duran i Lleida noted the purpose of his visit to Azerbaijan was to exchange views on expansion of bilateral relationship.
Ziyafat Asgarov, in turn, briefed Josep Antoni Duran i Lleida on the activities of the Milli Majlis, saying more than 70 friendship groups operating here play an important role in development of interparliamentary ties.
He pointed out great opportunities exist for development of Azerbaijan-Spain relationship. “Several documents were signed between our countries and another 8 ones are being prepared to be signed.”
Asgarov also spoke of Azerbaijan`s position on settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The sides discussed prospects for development of bilateral cooperation in science, education, culture, economy and trade spheres, reciprocal visits of parliamentarians and exchange of experience in legislative sphere.
