AZERBAIJAN NATIONAL RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS TEAM WINS SILVER MEDAL IN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
Baku, May 16 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan national rhythmic gymnastics team has won a silver medal in the 25th European championship here as Azerbaijani gymnasts Aliya Garayeva and Anna Gurbanova scored a total of 212.850 in rope, ball, ribbon and hoops. Russian team claimed a gold medal with a score of 224.325 while Ukraine is third.
Medals were presented by Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation Altay Hasanov and President of the European Union of Gymnastics Dimitrios Dimitropoulos.
Anna Gurbanova finished fourth and Aliya Garayeva fifth garnering 80.675 and 80.375 pts respectively. It allows Azerbaijani gymnasts to compete in ball, hoop, and ribbon individual events on May 17.
Azerbaijan junior team progressed to the final as well.
