Azerbaijan, Romania: good prospects for economic cooperation
Baku, April 19 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan and Romania have good prospects for economic cooperation. Sure, our strong political relations will have positive impact on both investment programs and effective functioning of many companies in the years ahead, President Aliyev stated Monday at the press conference with the visiting Romanian President Traian Basescu.
President of Azerbaijan said the countries had developed cooperation in the energy sphere, Azerbaijan`s SOCAR expands cooperation in crude oil delivery. And there is great potential for successful gas cooperation.
Noting early current year the European Union and Azerbaijan have signed a Deceleration on “South gas corridor” Aliyev said the energy safety problems would be solved on the base of this Declaration and in account of Azerbaijan`s resources.
According to the President of Azerbaijan, the country has rich gas resources to deliver to the world markets via numerous routes. “From this point of view, the Romanian-Azerbaijani relations have an exceptional character, because Romania is an active member of the Nabucco project, and at the same time an initiator of the AGRI project. The AGRI summit, held in Baku in September last year, was productive. At present, work to draft the technical and economic feasibility study is under way," President Aliyev said.
