First Uzbek-language issue of international magazine “IRS” published

The first Uzbek-language issue of the international magazine “IRS” – “IRS-Meros” – has been published. The new edition brings together materials devoted to the historical and cultural ties between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, shared spiritual values, and Azerbaijan’s contemporary development.
In his introductory article, Editor-in-Chief Musa Marjanli notes that the main objective of the new edition is to provide Uzbek readers with objective scholarly and cultural information about Azerbaijan. The first issue gives extensive coverage to both the historical and contemporary aspects of Azerbaijan–Uzbekistan relations.
In his article “Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan – Strategic Cooperation Based on Friendship and Trust,” international relations expert Shokhrat Oripov discusses the historical and cultural ties uniting the two peoples and the main areas of contemporary cooperation. Doctor of Philology Shokhrat Hayitov, in his article “A Closely Intertwined History and a Bright Future, or a New Era in Relations between Azerbaijan and New Uzbekistan,” focuses on the centuries-old ties between the peoples of the two countries.
The article “Shared Ideas and Hearts Longing for One Another” by PhD in History Bahrom Irzayev examines the press, educational, cultural, and political links established between Azerbaijani and Turkestani intellectuals in the early 20th century. The “Garabagh” section features Professor Ahmad Sami Elaydi’s article “Five Years after the Second Garabagh War: Victory, Reconstruction and the Path to Peace,” which provides information on reconstruction efforts, modern infrastructure projects, and the Great Return process in Garabagh.
The architecture section features Amina Melikova’s article “The Happiness of Living Up to One’s Name,” focusing on the architectural features of the Heydar Aliyev Center and its transformation into a symbol of modern Azerbaijani architecture. In the “Discover Azerbaijan” section, Rahmat Bobojon’s article “Azerbaijan Embracing Fraternal Uzbekistan – From Common Roots to Common Goals” reflects the author’s impressions of his visits to Baku, the Old City, and other parts of Azerbaijan.
The “Messages from the Past” section features Abdussattor Jumanazar’s article “Nizami Ganjavi and the Nightingale.” The author writes about his visit to Ganja, the mausoleum of Nizami Ganjavi, and manuscripts preserving the great poet’s legacy in Uzbekistan.
The publication of “IRS-Meros” in Uzbek marks a continuation of the international magazine “IRS”’s efforts to disseminate information about Azerbaijan in the native languages of different peoples. The magazine is currently published in 22 languages and serves to introduce Azerbaijan’s history, culture, national and spiritual values, cultural heritage, and realities to the international community.
