Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater to present Cavalleria rusticana

The Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater on May 18 will host the opera Cavalleria rusticana by Pietro Mascagni.
Famous German opera conductor, artistic director of the Gut-Immlingskogo Opera Festival (Bayern) Cornelia von Kerssenbrok will conduct the performance, which involves leading soloists - Samir Jafarov (Turiddu), Sabina Vahabzadeh (Lucia), Anton Fershtandt (Alfio) and Chinar Shirin (Lola).
Cavalleria rusticana is an opera in one act by Pietro Mascagni to an Italian libretto by Giovanni Targioni-Tozzetti and Guido Menasci, adapted from a play and short story written by Giovanni Verga. Considered one of the classic verismo operas, it premiered on 17 May 1890 at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome.
