Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers aim for ‘medal rush’ at Russian tournament

Baku, September 20, AZERTAC

Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers will demonstrate their prowess in an international tournament devoted to the memory of world and European champion, Olympic silver medallist Vladimir Cheboksarov to take place in Tyumen, Russia on September 24-25.

Azerbaijan’s hopes will be pinned on six Greco-Roman wrestlers.

The two-day tournament will welcome athletes from Azerbaijan, Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

An annual junior Greco-Roman wrestling tournament in honor of Vladimir Cheboksarov has been held in Tyumen, Russia, since 1995.
