Azerbaijan’s global initiatives highlighted on Kenyan radio

Kenya’s popular radio channel “Spice FM” featured an interview with Sultan Hajiyev, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kenya, on its program “Kenya’s Biggest Conversation.”
During the interview, Ambassador Hajiyev highlighted Azerbaijan’s active role at the seventh session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-7), held in Kenya last week, as well as the country’s initiatives during its Chairmanship of the Bureau of the United Nations Environment Programme’s Committee of Permanent Representatives (UNEP CPR).
He emphasized Azerbaijan’s leadership in sustainable urban planning and climate action, underscored by hosting COP29, and noted upcoming international events including the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) and World Environment Day 2026 (WED2026).
The ambassador also highlighted the growing ties between Azerbaijan and Kenya, mentioning the Heydar Aliyev Education Grant Program for Kenyan students and the humanitarian projects implemented in Kenya by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Azerbaijan International Development Agency.
