Baku to host 14th International Acoustic Engineering Forum

The 14th International Acoustic Engineering Forum (MAIF) will take place in Baku on October 8–9, bringing together acoustics specialists, architects, designers, and construction industry representatives from over 15 countries.
The forum is organized by Cinecon, with Akustik Grupp Holding serving as co-organizer.
For over a decade, MAIF has served as a platform for discussing modern approaches to the acoustic design of various types of facilities, protection against noise and vibration, the development of acoustic comfort, and approaches to managing the urban sound environment.
This year’s forum will bring together participants from Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Germany, Austria, Romania, Türkiye, Estonia, the United Arab Emirates, Serbia, Uzbekistan, and other countries. The centerpiece will be a session on pressing issues in architectural and building acoustics.
In an interview with AZERTAC, Fahrim Guluzade, Director of Cinecon LLC, and a member of the MAIF Organizing Committee, described hosting MAIF in Baku for the first time in its 14-year history as a significant milestone.
He noted that the forum’s program focuses on practical projects, including the acoustic design of the Heydar Aliyev Center, as well as sound insulation, noise and vibration protection, acoustic comfort, and modern engineering solutions.
The international conference will be held on October 8, followed by a partner and dealer round table on October 9. Guluzade noted that the forum aims to foster professional dialogue and facilitate new project opportunities in Azerbaijan and CIS countries.
Fahrim Guluzade emphasized that Azerbaijan’s rapid development of construction and urban infrastructure, particularly in Baku, is increasing noise levels and raising the importance of acoustic comfort in buildings. He stressed that acoustics and sound insulation should be addressed at the design stage rather than after construction problems emerge. According to Guluzade, MAIF provides a platform for sharing practical experience, discussing real projects and modern engineering solutions, and promoting acoustic comfort as an integral part of building quality.
He also highlighted the growing relevance of architectural and building acoustics for residential buildings, hotels, schools, hospitals, offices and public spaces.
Fahrim Guluzade said developers, architects and investors are increasingly interested in incorporating acoustic solutions at the initial design stage to ensure better living comfort.
