Azerbaijan University, Pakistan’s Northern University sign MoU

Saadat Aliyeva, Rector of Azerbaijan University, met with Taha Jamil Sawar, a member of the Board of Governors of Pakistan’s Northern University.
The sides discussed potential areas of cooperation and prospects for collaboration between the higher education institutions, as well as the establishment and development of academic, scientific, and institutional ties. They also exchanged views on areas of joint activity.
Saadat Aliyeva briefed Taha Jamil Sawar on the activities of Azerbaijan University, its position in international rankings, internationally accredited educational programs, and priorities.
Taha Jamil Sawar provided insight into the university’s activities, Pakistan’s higher education system, preferred fields of study in the country, and labor market demands.
He also noted strong interest in information technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and medicine.
According to him, cooperation would be mutually beneficial to the two universities.
Yusif Gasimov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs at Azerbaijan University; Nushaba Guliyeva, Rector’s Advisor and Director of the International Center for Master’s and Doctoral Studies; and Elmira Ismayilova, Head of the International Relations Department, also participated in the meeting.
A Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation was signed between Azerbaijan University and Pakistan’s Northern University to establish, expand, and develop cooperative relations in areas of mutual interest.
The document was signed by Saadat Aliyeva and Taha Jamil Sawar.
The memorandum envisages academic exchanges, enhanced academic mobility opportunities, the organization of joint projects and events, and joint scientific research.
