Azerbaijan, WHO consider cooperation in compulsory health insurance

Anar Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, met with Hande Harmancı, the World Health Organization (WHO) Representative and Head of the WHO Country Office in Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, Anar Aliyev highlighted effective cooperation between the ministry and the WHO in the field of rehabilitation aids, noting that the number of state-funded types of rehabilitation aids, classified in accordance with the WHO system, has increased from 57 to 130 in recent years.
He highlighted measures taken in recent years to improve the disability and rehabilitation systems as part of social reforms implemented on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev. The importance of cooperation with the WHO was emphasized, along with efforts to advance compulsory health insurance reforms, introduce innovative solutions, and improve the flexibility and accessibility of services.
Hande Harmancı hailed Azerbaijan’s social reforms and cooperation between the WHO and the ministry.
The meeting also addressed opportunities for cooperation with the WHO in improving compulsory health insurance management.
