Nearly 300 media representatives cover Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix
Baku, September 30, AZERTAC
Nearly 300 local and foreign media representatives, including journalists, photographers, and camera crews from leading international media organizations, covered the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, held for the 10th time.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix was broadcast on 56 foreign television channels and numerous international streaming platforms, including Sky Sports, ESPN, Canal+, beIN Sports, Apple TV, Tencent, TV Globo, and DAZN. As in previous years, the creative team behind the popular “Drive to Survive” documentary series on Netflix was also present in Baku to film for the show.
During the Grand Prix week, foreign media outlets went beyond covering the race, producing reports highlighting Azerbaijan’s culture and national traditions. A special media tour organized for foreign journalists provided them with an opportunity to experience the country’s rich heritage firsthand. For instance, ServusTV, the official F1 broadcaster in Austria, produced a special feature on Baku showcasing national cuisine, traditional music, and musical instruments, while Britain’s Sky Sports dedicated a separate segment to Azerbaijani carpet weaving, introducing viewers to this ancient art form.
In compliance with the requirements of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), a Media Center was set up to facilitate the work of accredited media representatives. The center was equipped with comfortable workstations, essential technical facilities, and a press conference hall for journalists.
