Azeri education minister meets British Council reps
Baku, July 12 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Minister of Education Misir Mardanov has met today with regional director of the British Council Michael Bird and country director of the organization Paul Clemenson.
Mardanov hailed projects being implemented by the British Council in Azerbaijan. He also spoke of English training courses for teachers.
He stressed President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on preparation of the National Education Development Strategy of Azerbaijan in 2011-2021, adding “it will be advisable to use opportunities of international organizations, including the British Council in preparation of this document”.
The meeting also discussed the expansion of relations between the Ministry and the British Council.
Bird hailed existing partnership between the Ministry and the British Council.
He expressed readiness for the cooperation in future joint projects.
The sides have also exchanged views on expansion of ties between British and Azerbaijani universities, education of Azerbaijani students in Great Britain and organization of exchange of teachers and students.
