Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Great Britain Fakhraddin Gurbanov met with newly appointed president of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Thomas Mirow, the embassy said.

During the conversation, Gurbanov spoke of ongoing political and economic processes in Azerbaijan.

Touching on EBRD`s projects in Azerbaijan, Gurbanov said diversification of economy and development of its non-oil sector are key priorities in his country`s economic policy.

Mirow, in turn, praised the level of bilateral cooperation between EBRD and Azerbaijan.

He expressed the bank`s readiness to continue being actively involved in assisting Azerbaijan in implementing infrastructure projects.
