Azeri FM meets British parliamentarians
Baku, July 26 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov has met with a delegation of the UK Parliament led by deputy chair of the group of Azerbaijan`s friends Christopher Pincher.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Mammadyarov provided information about the rapid development in Azerbaijan and the country`s increasing role in the region.
Touching upon the UK-Azerbaijan relations and activity of British companies in Azerbaijan, the Minister said the cooperation with Britain is developing in not only the oil sector, but also non-oil sphere.
Mammadyarov has also spoke of ongoing negotiations on the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, stressing the importance for immediate withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from the occupied Azerbaijani lands.
He stressed the delay of the conflict is causing problems to development of the region.
The British delegation expressed importance for expansion of relations between the two countries.
They expressed hope for peaceful settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
The meeting also discussed the issues of mutual interest.
