Azeri official participates in 77th IFLA General Conference and Assembly
Baku, August 24 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s first deputy minister of culture and tourism Vagif Aliyev participated in the 77th General Conference and Assembly of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from April 13-18.
The event brought together experts in library from more than 140 countries. The conference includes such topics as Strategies for managing digital library resources — Library and Research Services for Parliaments; The Legislative Library of Puerto Rico and matching research and information services to the needs of parliamentarians and citizens — Library and Research Services for Parliaments; Information systems for indigenous knowledge in agriculture — Agricultural Libraries Special Interest Group; Tackling the challenges of multilingualism in the arts: catalogues, databases, digital collections and other material in the global context — Art Libraries Section,; Libraries in Central America and the Caribbean Region — Library History Special Interest Group; The importance of information literacy for multicultural populations: needs, strategies, programs, and the role of libraries — Information Literacy Section with Library Services to Multicultural Populations and the Special Interest Group on Indigenous Matters.
An exhibition on innovations in the field of library was also organized within the conference.
