Baku hosts opening ceremony of Critical Infrastructure Defense Challenge 2023

The opening ceremony of the "Critical Infrastructure Defense Challenge 2023" (CIDC-2023) event co-organized by the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan has kicked off at the Baku Congress Center.
The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed at the ceremony.
The head of the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security of Azerbaijan, Lieutenant General Ilgar Musayev delivered an opening speech.
The final stage of the "Cyber War" competition will be held for the first time in Azerbaijan to develop the capabilities to defend critical information systems from cyber-attacks and manage information systems in crisis situations.
Participating teams must ensure the safety of virtual information systems in the competition, which will be carried out by modeling cyber-attacks. 20 teams reached the final. The winning team will be announced on the second day of the event.
The organizers held a presentation and panel discussions on information security, as well as free professional development trainings. Trainers include both local and foreign experts. During the two day of the event, the participants will have the opportunity to attend the trainings, visit the exhibition of cybersecurity solutions, participate in the competitions and virtual "quizzes" and win prizes. Those who pass the training will receive a certificate.
The event is organized to improve the information security experience, knowledge and skills of employees of government institutions, critical infrastructures, financial and telecommunications sectors, and to strengthen networking and coordination between the public and private sectors.
