Baku hosts second international book fair

Baku, September 28 (AZERTAC). The second International Book Fair dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Azerbaijan`s independence has today started here. The event is organized by the Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The Fair is attended by 120 local, 35 foreign representatives of printing and polygraphy businesses.

In his opening remarks, Azerbaijan`s deputy prime minister Elchin Afandiyev praised Baku`s hosting such an important event.

The Book Fair is expected to contribute to the promotion of book publishing industry in Azerbaijan, and local publishers will gain an opportunity to familiarize themselves with experiences in foreign countries. The event will also create a chance to realize joint projects.

The Fair demonstrates books and printing products of US, Russia, Iran, Turkey, Hungary, Macedonia, Slovakia, Belarus, Latvia, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and other countries` enterprises.

The three-day event will feature book presentations, meetings with well-known writers, symposiums and other activities.
