Chairman of Azerbaijan`s State Committee on Refugees and IDPs meets Spanish MPs
Baku, July 27 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani deputy Prime Minister, chairman of the State Committee on Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov has met with a delegation led by chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the Spanish Congress of Deputies, Josep Antoni Duran i Lleida.
Hasanov briefed the Spanish delegation on Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He noted that Armenian aggression resulted in occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijan`s territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts and displacement of over one million Azerbaijanis. Hasanov also stressed that Armenia disregards four resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
Azerbaijani deputy Prime Minister underlined that “Azerbaijan is a tolerant country”. Representatives of all religions live here peacefully. He also noted Azerbaijan is interested in cooperation with Spain.
Hasanov thanked the Spanish government for supporting Azerbaijan`s position.
In turn, head of the Spanish delegation Lleida noted Spain supports settlement of the conflict within framework of the European Union.
