CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF INSTITUTE OF ARCHEOLOGY AND ETHNOGRAPHY STARTED

A two-day scientific conference dedicated to 10th anniversary of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography began its activity on December 24 in the National Academy of Sciences /NAS/.

Opening the event, NAS corresponding member Arif Abbasov recounted the 10-year activity and stressed the unique role of President Heydar Aliyev in its establishment.

NAS president academician Mahmud Karimov emphasized the inestimable services of the great son of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev in development of science, its integration in the world science.

Then, participants heard the reports by Teymur Buniyadov entitled “Ethnographic science development”, by NAS corresponding member Veli Aliyev – “archeological dig in Nakhchivan”, doctor of historical sciences Asadulla Jafarov - “The Azikh cavern: new thoughts and judgments”.

The reporters and others spoke of the wide research works implemented in Azerbaijan towards archeology and ethnography.
