COUNCIL OF EUROPE MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE TO FOCUS ON INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION
Ассording to press-release of COE, Maud de Boer-Buquicchio, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, and Petros Efthymiou, Greek Education Minister, will take part in the opening session at 7 pm on Monday 10 November.
On 11 November, there will be three round tables dedicated to paying more attention to cultural diversity in educational curricula, in school governance and in teacher training, respectively.
A plenary session on Wednesday 12 November will give Ministers the opportunity to adopt a declaration on the introduction of an intercultural and inter-religious dimension into the educational programmes of the member states and into the activity programme of the Council of Europe. The Ministers will also discuss the results of the "Learning and teaching in the communication society" project, before adopting a resolution in favour of integrating new information and communication technologies into education systems.
The conference will close with the conclusions of the Chair, Greek Education Minister Petros Efthymiou, and a speech by Bendik Rugaas, Director General of Education, Culture, Heritage, Youth and Sport at the Council of Europe.
