DELEGATION OF THE SUPREME RADA OF UKRAINE VISITING AZERBAIJAN
At Bina airport, Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament Murtuz Alaskarov, head of the Milli Majlis Apparatus Safa Mirzoyev, members of the Azerbaijan-Ukraine Parliament friendship group, ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Talat Aliyev, ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan Boris Aleksenko welcomed the high guest.
Chairman of the Supreme Rada of Ukrainian gave interview to the media representatives, noting: “I was impatiently expecting this visit. Though I have never been in your country, I have many friends here. I wanted to see them. I knew well the unforgettable Heydar Aliyev and we used to meet frequently”.
Touching the goal of the visit, the Ukrainian guest said: “We need coordination of our efforts for development of our countries. We should focus the issues of development of our countries, further intensification of regional cooperation, including in the frame of GUUAM. Of course, Ukraine has its own interests. For example: to ensure realization of the idea of Eurasian oil transportation corridor. This would be useful for Ukraine, Europe, as well as for your country. I am convinced that we shall realize the necessity of setting a Parliamentary Assembly”.

On the same day, Chairman of the Supreme Rada of Ukraine Vladimir Litvin who arrived in Azerbaijan on an official visit and accompanying delegation, visited the Lane of Honorary burial place on February 27.
The head of the Ukrainian Parliament Vladimir Litvin laid a wreath at the grave of the creator of Azerbaijan State, wise leader of the people of Azerbaijan President Heydar Aliyev, and revered the bright memory of the man whose role in development of Azerbaijan –Ukraine relationship was invaluable. Thanks to exactly Heydar Aliyev’s farsighted foreign policy, these relations have reached the level of strategic partnership.
Vladimir Litvin also laid flowers at the grave of Academician Zarifa Khanum Aliyeva.
At the Lane of Honorary burial place, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Talat Aliyev, of Ukraine to Azerbaijan Boris Aleksenko, as well as deputies of the Milli Majlis accompanied the guest.

Then, Chairman of the Supreme Rada of Ukraine Vladimir Litvin and accompanying delegation, visited the memorial complex “Lane of Martyrs” on February 27 to revere the memory of brave fighters who had given their lives for freedom, independence and territorial integrity of our country, and lay carnations at their graves, and a wreath at the memorial “Eternal Fire.”
The high-ranking guest has written the following words in the Book of Honorary Guests: “Ukraine expresses respect to the memory of shahids, who gave their lives for independence of motherland. May blood they shed bring peace and welfare to this ancient and beautiful land!”
At the Lane of Martyrs, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Talat Aliyev, of Ukraine to Azerbaijan Boris Aleksenko and the Milli Majlis deputies accompanied Mr. Vladimir Litvin.
