EITI EVENTS TO BE HELD IN BAKU
Officials of US Department of State and US Agency of International Development /USAID/, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of Norway, representatives of UK Department for International Development, Foreign Affairs Ministry of France and Ministry of Solid Minerals of Nigeria, WB, IMF, bp, Chevron, Petrobras, Anglo-American Companies and NGOs will discuss tasks to the upcoming 3rd EITI international conference to be held in Oslo, Norway, October 2006.
On April 6, conference ‘Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) : experience in pilot countries’ will also take place in Baku. Stefan Krasnerin, US State Department’s policy planning section, UK chief auditor John Bourn and the country’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lorenz Bristow, Graham Beksterin, Vice President of bp group of companies, Michael Levitz, WB chief economist, Valeh Alasgarov, Milli Majlis (Parliament) Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan Republic, Samir Sharifov, Chairman of the National Commission on EITI will deliver reports at the conference.
After, WB and Open Society Institute will hold two day seminar for NGOs representatives.
