Eni to resume purchase of Iran's crude

Italy's oil giant Eni will resume its crude purchase from Iran, a senior energy official announced, according to Fars News agency.
"A contract with Eni would possibly see Iran selling 100,000 bpd of oil to the Italian state producer," Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Rokneddin Javadi told reporters.
He noted that the negotiations with Eni are in progress and a final agreement will be reached soon.
Javadi said that the NIOC has already signed an oil exports contract with Italian refinery Saras.
"Saras is currently buying 30,000-35,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil from Iran under the contract, with the volume expected to rise to 65,000 bpd soon," Javadi added.
In a relevant development in early April, Chairman of the Iranian Association of Oil Equipment Manufacturers Reza Khayyamian said his association has signed a cooperation deal with Italian Association of the Oil Industry (ASSITOL).
Speaking to reporters, Khayyamian said under the deal, the two sides agreed to work together to manufacture oil equipment in Iran.
