EU FOREIGN MINISTERS TO DISCUSS EUROPE`S ENERGY SECURITY
Baku, January 7, (AZERTAC). Foreign Ministers of the European Union`s member states will gather informally in Prauge on January 8 to discuss the issue of Europe`s energy security.
European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Benita Ferrero-Waldner is reported to participate in the meeting.
During the event, the ministers are expected to support speeding up construction of the Nabucco gas pipeline.
EU`s gas Coordination Group will meet on January 9 in Brussels to discuss the state of gas supplies to Europe. Representatives of “Gazprom” and “Neftegas” were also invited to the meeting.
Meanwhile, the European Union receives about one fifth of its gas from Russia via Ukraine.
