EUROPEAN COMMISSION APPROVED EDUCATIONAL REFORMS PROJECT IN AZERBAIJAN

Within the framework of the Tempus program, European Commission has short listed the project “Modernization of engineers’ training in the Higher Technical Schools of Azerbaijan”, proposed by Azerbaijan State Oil Academy /ASOA/, Sumgait State University/SSU/, Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute /MPI/, Applied Sciences University of Cologne (ASUK, Germany) and Applied Sciences University of Heerlen (ASUH, Netherlands).

The major purpose of the project is to bring the teaching of the majors up to European standards, disseminate experience accumulated by ASOA and ATU in the SSU and MPI.

For the last time, according to the program, relevant activities such as establishment of modern training centers, improvement of curriculums, update courses for the teachers in the Universities of Nizza, Genoa and ASUK, Master trainings of “Environment and Oil Industry” in the ASOA, Bachelor trainings of “Automation and Informational Techniques”, “Electronics of Automobiles and Electric Appliances” in the ATU have been provided.

It is scheduled to work out new curriculums for the relevant majors within two years, provide update courses for the teachers in Germany and Netherlands and establish new up-to-date labs.

European Commission has assigned €296,750 for implementation of this project.
