European Movie Festival aims to boost Azerbaijan-EU cultural ties, Roland Kobia
Baku, October 7 (AZERTAC). “The aim of the European Movie Festival in Baku is to develop Azerbaijan-EU cultural relations and to raise awareness of Azerbaijani people on European values,” head of the European Union (EU) delegation, ambassador Roland Kobia told a press conference related to the European Movie Festival 2011 which will last till October 10.
Kobia said that the Festival is co-organized by the EU Delegation, Embassies of the EU member-states represented in Azerbaijan jointly with “Park Cinema” and “Azercell Telecom” LLC.
The programme of the Festival features 11 films from Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, United Kingdom, Greece and France.
The guests of the Festival will include the French Film Director Olivier Horlait, Austrian Film Director Michael Glawogger, Polish Film Director Marek Lechki, German documentarians Stefan Kolbe and Chris Wright, Lithuanian Film Director Inesa Kurklietyte, Greek actor Gennadios Patsis. The audience will be given a chance to participate in interactive discussions with the guests after the movies. Entrance to all the films is free for everybody.
