EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF SOFAZ ATTENDS EXECUTIVE BOARD`S MEETING OF EITI

Executive Director of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) Shahmar Movsumov attended the next Executive Board`s meeting of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) on October 29-30 in Athens, Greece.

The meeting participants stressed importance of the resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly to support EITI.

Executive Board`s meeting highly estimated the fact that Azerbaijan is the first country to start assessment process.

The meeting discussed preparation work on the international conference of EITI to be held on February 16-18, 2009 in Doha, Qatar.
