FIRST NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON PARENT-TEACHER COOPERATION COMMENCED
Opening the event, Minister of Education Misir Mardanov stressed invaluable merits of our nationwide leader, statesman Heydar Aliyev in realization of educational reforms in Azerbaijan. He highly appreciated the founding of the Parent-Teacher Associations, and wished every success to the conference participants.
Addressing the conference, representative of UNICEF to Azerbaijan Akif Saatchioglu, Commissioner for Human Rights Elmira Suleymanova pointed out the state care about education, and significance of the reforms aimed at development of education in the country.
The conference participant also heard the reports by Director of Human Rights and Democratic Programs Department Tarana Sharifova on the subject “Work Done in the Frameworks of the Program in 2003 and Development Plan for 2004”, by International Consultant Deborah Welsh - “International Experience of APT” and others.
It was noted that the parent-teacher cooperation project is now being implemented at five pilot schools of the Republic, and 10 more schools had already joined them.
