Congratulations on your recent re-election president of the Republic of Azerbaijan. By exercising the right to vote, your country`s citizens have demonstrated their long-term commitment to democracy and again placed their trust in your leadership.
As a United States citizen and senator in the State of Utah, I appreciate the long-standing, constructive partnership established between the United States and Azerbaijan. Together, our countries will seek solutions for terrorism, political conflict, energy security, economic stability, etc., in order to establish peace and prosperity in the world.
Thank you for your commitment to the ideals of democracy, particularly in view of the positive influence you have among numerous countries in your region and beyond. The United States is fortunate to have an influential ally as we encounter ever-changing global circumstances.
It was a pleasure to visit Azerbaijan in Baku last summer and I hope to be able to return sometime soon.
