TURKPA Secretary General meets with Speaker of Kyrgyz Parliament

On October 5, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) Ambassador Ramil Hasan met with Marlen Mamataliev, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, as part of his official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic.
The meeting focused on preparations for the 15th Plenary Session of TURKPA, to be held in Bishkek, the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic, on 19–20 October. The sides exchanged views on various aspects of preparations for the Plenary Session. The Secretary General briefed the Speaker on the work carried out over the past year, preparations for the Plenary Session, as well as the participation of Speakers of the parliaments of the member states and heads of partner organizations. The sides also held a comprehensive exchange of views on protocol, organizational and other related matters.
In turn, Marlen Mamataliev, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, expressed his appreciation for the activities of TURKPA and reaffirmed his full support for the work of the International Secretariat. He noted that, as the host country, the Kyrgyz Republic, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had been carrying out the necessary preparations for the Plenary Session and the meeting of the Assembly Council at the highest level. He also expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation with the International Secretariat in this regard. Mamataliev further emphasized that the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic would continue to provide comprehensive support for TURKPA’s activities. He underscored the particular importance of strengthening relations among legislative bodies and highlighted the significance of decisions adopted by TURKPA’s Permanent Commissions in promoting the adoption of similar legislation by the parliaments of brotherly countries.
The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere, with the sides also exchanging views on other issues of mutual interest.
TURKPA Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasan was accompanied by Acting Deputy Secretary General of TURKPA Bektur Bazakechov, Head of the Protocol Service Yadigar Mammadov, and Legal Officer Azar Mammadov.
