Baku, October 5, AZERTAC
Kyrgyzstan and Oman have discussed the establishment of a Kyrgyz-Omani investment development fund, the attraction of private capital, and the implementation of joint projects, according to Kabar.
According to the agency, National Investment Agency head Ravshanbek Sabirov met with the Omani delegation led by Sheikh Al-Abbas bin Ibrahim Al-Harthi, head of the Central Asia Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman.
The meeting took place on October 5 in an interagency format, involving representatives from government bodies and organizations of both countries responsible for sectors such as the economy, investment, trade, energy, transport, tourism, agriculture, and other priority areas.
The parties discussed the current state of Kyrgyz-Omani economic ties and prospects for their further development. Priority areas identified include energy and renewable energy sources, tourism and resort infrastructure, agriculture and produce processing, transport and logistics, aviation, and digitalization.
"Kyrgyzstan is interested in attracting Omani investment for promising projects across key economic sectors. We aim to create a favorable environment for long-term partnerships, provide effective support to investors, and facilitate projects that contribute to the development of production, infrastructure, and new technologies. I am confident that expanding direct engagement with Omani investment institutions and the business community will create new opportunities for mutual investment," noted Ravshanbek Sabirov.
Discussions also covered attracting private capital from Oman and fostering direct contacts between the two countries' investment institutions and business representatives.
To enhance practical cooperation, it was proposed to step up the organization of joint investment forums and reciprocal business missions.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to advancing specific projects of mutual interest.
