Azerbaijan, Moldova sign memorandum on theater cooperation

Supported by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture, the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater and the Eugène Ionesco National Theater of Moldova signed a Memorandum of Cooperation at the Ministry of Culture of Moldova.
The document was signed by Director of the Academic State Academic National Drama Theater, Honored Cultural Worker Ilham Asgarov and Director General of the Eugene Ionesco National Theater, People's Artist Valeriu Pahomi.
Moldovan Minister of Culture Dan Suruceanu hailed the development of cultural ties between the two countries. The minister said that this initiative of the Academic State Academic National Drama Theater would contribute significantly to the development of both theaters.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Moldova Ulvi Bakhshaliyev expressed the embassy’s readiness to support the expansion of creative relations between the theatres.
Ilham Asgarov highlighted the international relations of the Academic State Academic National Drama Theater, adding that international cooperation established between national theaters has been set as a priority for the development of theatrical art.
Artistic Director of the Eugene Ionesco National Theater, People's Artist, Director Petru Vutcărău recalled the play of the same name, based on the work of the People's Writer Elchin "Shakespeare", which he staged at the Academic State Academic National Drama Theater in 2012, sharing his fond memories of the theater’s creative team.
Afterwards, attendees viewed “The Murder of Gonzago” and “The Inspector”, staged by director Petru Vutcarău.
