European Union to Azerbaijan hosts fourth “Taste of Europe” Culinary Festival

The Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Azerbaijan, in partnership with the Embassies of EU Member States held the fourth edition of its traditional “Taste of Europe” Culinary Festival.
The Festival offered the Azerbaijani public an opportunity to discover and enjoy European cuisine, culture and traditions through food, culinary masterclasses, quizzes, music and other activities.
The Embassies of Austria, Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia and Spain presented cuisine of their countries to the visitors.
The EU Delegation stand presented culinary master-classes led by well-known food bloggers Elmira Gadirova and Nazakat Jafarova. The Local farmers, who benefitted from the EU-funded project also showcased and sold their organic food products.

We invite our Azerbaijani friends to join us in the celebration of European flavours and culture! It is a wonderful opportunity to discover the national cuisines, cultures and traditions of European countries, explore new flavours and enjoy an unforgettable day with family and friends. I am particularly proud to note that this event takes place as part of the celebrations marking 30 years of the partnership between the EU and Azerbaijan, which we celebrate this year”, said Marijana Kujundžić, Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the event, winners of quizzes will have an opportunity to receive various prizes, including a “Taste of Europe” book published by the EU Delegation. The book offers traditional recipes from all 27 EU Member States translated into the Azerbaijani language. The book is also available in an electronic format on the web-site of the EU Delegation.
The event will also feature the awarding ceremonies of the culinary competition of European dishes and drawing competition organised by “Azeri Home Chef” Facebook page prior to the event. The Festival will be accompanied with a concert of local musicians performing in Azerbaijani and European languages.
